5,000 Students Enrolled at EXP Academy
We’re building a safer region—one learner at a time.

EXP Academy recently welcomed our 5,000th student.

That’s 5,000 professionals across the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Our students include office managers, nonprofit leaders, accountants, architects, tech coordinators, and practically anyone else that uses a computer at work. They are people who want to make better use of technology and just need someone to show them how.

And that’s why EXP Academy exists.

The prime motivation for creating this site was to make the region more secure.

“Not long ago we noticed a gap. Business leaders know that security awareness is important. They worry that their employees won’t know how to respond to a sophisticated cyber-attack. But many small businesses and nonprofits have zero budget for training,” says Kelly Paletta of EXP Technical. “Cybersecurity is too important to ignore. Rather than try to convince cash strapped businesses to spend more [on training], we decided to create the best training we could and give it away with no strings.”

It’s a philosophy of helping, not selling.

And it’s working.

From phishing awareness to AI safety, and technology capability maturity to IT budgeting basics, our free courses help everyday professionals build confidence and protect their organizations.

One student shared:

“I learned more about cybersecurity from this video than any other training I have taken before.”

Another told us:

“I’ve taught for many years, and this course is ridiculously well put together. Each section was to the point while being warm and non-judgmental. [The instructor’s] personality and humor (and even clear diction!) made what could have been tedious to review, if not precisely a joy, then certainly palatable. New information was interesting and had interesting supporting anecdotes. All in all, this was a surprisingly great educational course.”

And a third summed it up like this:

“This training was better than I thought it would be and I learned some new things that I was not aware of before.”

That’s the kind of learning that has an impact. It’s making teams smarter, organizations safer, and the whole region more resilient.

What’s Next?

We’re expanding our library with new content tailored to the tools small businesses are adopting right now, like Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, and other AI platforms. And we’ll continue to offer all of it for free to the people who need it most.

Thank you to every student who’s taken a course.
To every business that’s encouraged learning.
And to every organization working to build a culture of security.

Let’s keep building a vibrant community and a safer, smarter, more connected region.
